Many people will be giving up alcohol in January but that doesn’t mean the food in Lake District pubs and inns can’t be enjoyed. In fact, there’s never a better time than the dark winter months to will be well fed in cosy surroundings.
Wainwright’s Inn at Langdale with its roaring fires and roaring hearty food is definitely the place to make a beeline for this January. They offer a vast range of non-alcoholic drinks both hot and cold and the newly tweaked menu is full of super tasty, seasonal food.
Wainwright’s Inn is popular with guests staying on the Langdale Estate either in the hotel, self catering and timeshare properties but so too walkers. With some good weather over the Christmas and New Year holidays, the fells have been busy and Wainwright’s has been awash with walkers warming themselves through after a winter hike.
The trend for burgers has seen the offerings increase and the amount of orders for them just goes to show how popular they are. All handmade the choice now extends to “Sliders”. Sliders are small burgers and at Wainwright’s 3 are served per portion in Brioche buns with fillings of pit smoked pulled pork, chicken and beef.
